We are thrilled to introduce you to our Anim Pinot Noir Collection, a testament to passion and precision in winemaking. Anim Wines is a labor of love, crafted by a family whose story began at the Gnadenberg Church on the Hill of Grace. Max and Siobhan, after honing their winemaking skills globally, have poured their expertise into Anim, a name derived from their daughters Audrey, Niamh, and Imogen Marriott. With a commitment to responsible farming across southern Tasmania, Anim Wines has become known for limited production runs that capture the essence of the region's wild beauty​​.

Dive into the 2022 vintages of our collection, starting with the Anim Clarence Pinot Noir. Grown in the Coal Valley region, on Jurassic dolerite soils, this wine is a wild-fermented blend that includes 50% whole bunches and 30% new French oak. It reflects the perfume, purity, and precision of Southern Tasmania, with a mere 1493 bottles produced​​.

Pair this with a dish like duck breast glazed with a cherry and balsamic reduction. The fruit notes in the wine complement the cherries, while the acidity cuts through the richness of the duck.

Next, the Anim Windrush Pinot Noir offers you a glimpse from high Mount Pleasant, over tertiary basalt, towards the stunning kunanyi (Mt Wellington), South Arm, and Bruny Island. The 2022 vintage, harvested early May, promises an unadulterated expression of the terroir, with destemmed whole berries and 10% new French oak contributing to its character. Only 1373 bottles have been released​​.

Try this with a wild mushroom risotto. The earthy flavours of the mushrooms will harmonize with the wine's terroir-driven character, and the creamy texture of the risotto matches the body of the wine.

Completing the trio is the Anim Tinderbox Pinot Noir, hailing from a vineyard at the d’Entrecasteaux Channel gateway, atop Triassic sandstone. The harvest from mid-April is infused with 15% whole bunches and 30% new French oak, encapsulating the wilds of Southern Tasmania in every bottle—this vintage boasts a production of 1161 bottles​​.

This would go beautifully with a herb-crusted rack of lamb, as the herbal notes will echo the wine's subtle vegetal hints, and the wine's structure can stand up to the robust flavour of lamb.
