Introducing Sailors Grave 'Dark Emu', a thoughtfully brewed Dark Lager that honours Indigenous Australian culture while delivering a rich and complex flavour. Brewed with native ingredients—mamadyang ngalluk and burru ngalluk grass seed—harvested by the Yuin people on the banks of the Wallagaraugh River, this lager embodies a deep connection to land, waters, and tradition. Art by Terry Hayes complements the cultural significance of this brew.
We thank Uncle Bruce Pascoe and his family for entrusting us with this project, and we pay our respects to the ancestors and Elders—past, present, and emerging—whose spiritual and cultural relationships with the land continue to inspire us. Sailors Grave Brewing is committed to honouring Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ enduring connection to country. A percentage of proceeds from Dark Emu support the studies of local Aboriginal students at Orbost, Mallacoota, and Eden.
